Hi, I’m Matt, the founder of TourVista.

If I had to state our company goal in one sentence, it would go something like this: TourVista was created to improve the real estate shopping experience by providing more information online through our interactive virtual tours.

The idea for this website came to me during my own home search in 2005. It was so frustrating to find a property that looked great online only to be totally disappointed when visiting it in person. Many of these wasted trips made me resent the listing agent and seller for wasting my time. I felt the answer to this problem was simple: provide more information online so the viewer can decide if a property is worth their time to see it in person.

Virtual tours should not be a luxury item. Every home on the market deserves one.

Yet most homes that you see online offer a handful of photos and some text. So I built this website to help sellers provide their viewers with a more comprehensive virtual tour. And made sure it was affordable and easy enough to use that anyone could build their own virtual tour in a few minutes. With the help of a few friends, TourVista came to life.

One of the coolest aspects of TourVista is our interactive floor plans. Although not required, we highly recommend adding floor plans to your virtual tour to help orient your viewers.

Our website makes it super easy to “connect” your floor plans to photos and video, allowing your viewers to tour your home in a fun and engaging way. Plus, the floor plans add an extra layer of information to the online viewing experience. Everyone wins!

Originally called Cool Toors, we unveiled our website in a business plan competition at the University of Washington Business School. (May 2007)
